About this role

Join our innovative Digital Team as an Analytics Engineer and embark on a journey where your skills in data modelling, integration and analysis will be pivotal in shaping our business landscape. This permanent, full-time position reports directly to the Head of Applications, Data, and Integration, and offers the unique opportunity to collaborate with a close-knit team of experts, including Data Scientists, BI Specialists and Application Specialists. Building on our greenfield data environment, your contributions will leave a lasting impact as you implement data models and pipelines that support meaningful and actionable analytics, helping to drive positive change with an engaged and supportive business. 

Key responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient data pipelines and architectures using Databricks, ensuring robust data integration and processing. 
  • Implement, optimise, and manage comprehensive data models to support various data analytics and reporting needs within the organisation. 
  • Collaborate closely with business users and stakeholders to understand their data requirements and deliver effective data solutions. 
  • Integrate diverse data sources using modern data integration tools, ensuring seamless data flow and accessibility. 
  • Build and maintain a robust data infrastructure in cloud environments, with a focus on Microsoft Azure, to ensure scalability, reliability, and security. 

Skills & experience

  • Extensive expertise in SQL for data querying, manipulation, and optimisation, ensuring efficient and effective data processing. 
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and scripting, enabling the development of scalable and maintainable data solutions. 
  • Hands-on experience with Databricks for building, managing, and optimising data pipelines and workflows in a collaborative environment. 
  • Familiarity with cloud environments, preferably Azure, including experience with cloud services and tools for data storage, processing, and integration. 
  • Knowledge of modern data integration tools such as Fivetran, ensuring seamless data flow and integration across systems. 
  • Understanding of DevOps practices and tools.
