About the role

The Resource Manager will be responsible for optimising the planning and allocation of jobs to be logistically sound, efficient and an effective use of resourcing. This includes but is not limited to the following:

  • Scheduling the number of resources assigned to each assignment
  • Attend to day-to-day rescheduling to cover unplanned leave and changes in resourcing availability to best service our clients
  • Participate actively in problem solving and finding solutions for scheduling difficulties and challenges in consultation with internal stakeholders
  • Day-to-day liaison with stakeholders, responding to scheduling enquiries, exceptions, requests, and feedback in a prompt, efficient and supportive manner
  • Partner with business leaders to understand internal and external drivers which may impact future workforce needs and develop workforce planning guiding principles
  • Provide meaningful, accurate and timely reporting in an efficient, consistent and professional manner
  • Be involved in team performance discussions and provide insights
  • Forecasting out for up to 12 months into the future for performance and resourcing purposes
  • Be involved in graduate and vacation recruitment

Skills and experience 

  • Minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience in a workforce planning capacity
  • Proficient in MS suite
  • Good organisational, time management, and communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail and appropriate discretion when dealing with sensitive or confidential information
  • Ability to analyse complex scheduling situations and present simple and effective solution options
  • Takes responsibility for, and drives own development on a continued basis
  • Resilience and patience to handle difficult situations
  • Ability to work in a fast moving, dynamic environment
  • Solid understanding of the commercial environment and client focused industries will be important to succeed in this role
  • Team player with a can do attitude who can also work autonomously
