About the role

We are looking for a Sydney based Senior Manager, with a passion for the higher education sector and public sector more broadly. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a Risk Consulting team within a professional services environment or internal audit team within the higher education and public sector space. Working in a collaborative, supportive team environment you will be supported to enhance your career through exposure to a broad range of engagements.

Key responsibilities

Understanding how to grow our clients’ business means you will get involved a broad range of activities including:

  • Building successful relationships by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable commercial outcomes
  • Leading collaborative risk consulting / internal audit teams on a range of internal audit, risk assurance and controls remediation engagements, and effectively communicating outcomes and recommendations to Audit Committees and/or senior executives
  • Coaching and mentoring team members to continually develop the team’s capabilities to provide a high level of engagement
  • Working closely with internal teams, as well as clients to identify business development opportunities that will add value to our client’s business
  • Staying up to date with the ever-changing regulatory landscape and best practice

Skills and experience

We’re looking for an experienced leader skilled in supporting and motivating their team through coaching to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusion. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Proven track record working in a Risk / Consulting team within a professional services environment or internal audit team within higher education and public sectors
  • Demonstrated ability to think critically
  • Collaborative and consultative approach to working with diverse stakeholder’s
  • Professional qualification in CA or equivalent
