About this role

Are you ready to take your career to the next level with an exciting opportunity at Grant Thornton? Our Risk Consulting service offering is continuing to grow which has seen 166% growth in the past 3 years! To support this continue growth we are looking for a Sydney-based Manager / Senior Manager with experience in providing Internal Audit services to the Public Sector / Higher Education and / or For Purpose experience. We are also keen for individuals who have a keen interest and passion in ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) projects. This role offers a unique chance to grow with our business and make a meaningful impact.

Key responsibilities

Understanding how to grow our clients’ business means you will get involved a broad range of activities including:

• Building successful relationships by partnering with internal and external stakeholders to ensure sustainable commercial outcomes
• Leading collaborative risk consulting / internal audit teams on a range of internal audit, risk assurance and controls remediation engagements, and effectively communicating outcomes and recommendations to Audit Committees and/or senior executives
• Coaching and mentoring team members to continually develop the team’s capabilities to provide a high level of engagement
• Working closely with internal teams, as well as clients to identify business development opportunities that will add value to our client’s business
• Staying up to date with the ever-changing regulatory landscape and best practice

Skills and experience

We are seeking an experienced leader who excels in supporting and motivating their team through coaching to foster a culture of collaboration and inclusion. The ideal candidate will have:

• A proven track record working in a Risk/Consulting team within a professional services environment or an internal audit team within the higher education and public sectors.
• Demonstrated ability to think critically.
• A collaborative and consultative approach to working with diverse stakeholders.
• A professional qualification in CA or equivalent
• And a Passion for working on ESG projects
