About the role

Owners of private businesses face many challenges throughout the business lifecycle – from managing daily operations, tax and compliance, to navigating a competitive landscape and planning an exit strategy. As part of a team-providing client focused, high quality business advisory services you will get involved in a broad range of Bookkeeping activities including:

Australian Statutory Compliance work under the direction of a CA or CPA, which may include but will not be limited to:

  • General client work including data entry, transaction coding, reconciliations
  • Accounts payable processing
  • accounts receivable processing;
  • Payroll processing, including wages and payroll tax reconciliation
  • Electronic filing
  • Setup of client files including backup and rollover of general ledgers
  • Preparation of work papers and client packs
  • Preparation of Business Activity Statements & Instalment Activity Statements
  • Effectively engaging with clients and external stakeholders as well as the Private Advisory Team to provide first class client service

Skills and Experience

You’ll be agile, responsive and enjoy thinking outside of the box to bring innovative solutions within this supportive team environment. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in Financial Compliance type work
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Strong work ethic and a genuine interest contributing to the growth of our business
  • Experience using cloud accounting software such as Xero & MYOB
  • Knowledge of MYOB AE and/or MYOB Small Business Products an advantage
  • Intermediate working knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Diploma in accounting / TAFE qualification preferred.
