About the role

A Senior Manager role within the Melbourne Restructuring Advisory team with a focus on mid-large corporate formal insolvency work and informal restructuring on files that are both interesting and challenging. This role will utilise your expertise in formal insolvency matters, financial analysis, distressed business advisory, strategy development and stakeholder management across a range of different industries.

As a Senior Manager in our national team you will have the opportunity to engage with a variety of external stakeholders from mid-size businesses to large corporates to develop and implement the work out strategy, corporate restructure or wind down solution best suited to the client. You will be involved in leadership and every day management of the team, as well as developing opportunities for growth within the team and firm.

Working closely with the firm’s partners and senior management, who are industry leaders within their field, key areas of involvement will include:

  • Developing and driving solutions and overseeing implementation of engagement strategies, resulting in successful outcomes for our clients
  • Managing all aspects of formal and informal insolvency engagements
  • Drafting reports and performing detailed financial analysis
  • Mentoring and developing the skills of junior team members
  • Contributing to the organisation’s marketing efforts, including attending events, developing your own network, involvement in presentations and preparing marketing material
  • Assisting partners in preparing and pitching for new engagements
  • Assisting with and in some instances leading practice management tasks, such as internal training, recruitment and WIP/debtor management

Skills and experience

You will be agile, responsive and intuitive. This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • Strong accounting background with extensive experience in corporate insolvency/restructuring (6+ years)
  • Good understanding of the market and current developments
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent client relationship skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage competing stakeholder interests
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple files and meet deadlines  
  • CA/CPA qualified
  • Proficient excel skills
  • Ideally ARITA and/or TMA accredited
  • Strong personal brand and engagement with networks
