About this role

Our growing Private Business Tax & Advisory (Business Services) team is looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to join our Sydney office as a Senior Associate.

Business leaders face many challenges throughout the business lifecycle: from managing daily operations, tax and compliance, to navigating a competitive landscape and planning an exit strategy. Key responsibilities

This is a ‘hands-on’ role involving a varied client portfolio and a broad range of activities, including:

  • Work closely with our clients in meeting their accounting and tax compliance requirements, including preparation of financial statements, income tax returns, BAS, FBT and payroll tax returns
  • Collaboration journey with a broad range of clients, from SMEs to large companies
  • Assist with accounting and tax advisory work that supports our clients’ business
  • Build a foundation of trust and competency with clients
  • Provide developmental support to team members through coaching and mentoring opportunities as required

Skills and experience

You will have an interest in taxation and in the ‘nuts and bolts’ of accounting, while bringing a caring, conscientious, and practical approach to your clients. You enjoy applying your analytical and critical thinking skills to problems in order to find innovative solutions that are tailored to each client’s unique situation.

  • CA qualification
  • Significant professional experience in business and tax advisory within a chartered accounting setting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities within a deadline-driven environment and be adaptable to work across multiple managers
  • Experience in the use of Xero accounting software will be highly regarded
