About this role
We are looking for an Accountant/Senior Accountant with Self-Managed Superannuation Fund (SMSF) experience to join our national specialist team based in any state in Australia.

You’ll maintain strong working relationships both with our clients and with your colleagues across the wider Private Business Tax & Advisory (PBTA) team, providing consultative advice and support to internal and external stakeholders on a range of SMSF matters including:
Key responsibilities
- Preparation and administration of SMSF Financial Statements, Annual Returns, and Member’s Statements including Trustee Minutes and Section 290-170 Notices
- Preparation and administration of SMSF BAS, IAS and PAYG Payment Summaries
- Liaise with external auditors and other bodies such as the ATO and ASIC
- Provide advice to colleagues and escalate any SIS compliance issues to assigned Manager / Director / Partner
- Assist with the preparation of Statements of Advice (SOAs)
Skills and experience
With experience providing compliance and advisory services to SMSF clients, you are a service-oriented individual with a continuous improvement mindset: someone who takes pride in your work and centres the customer in everything you do, always looking to develop and refine your technical expertise.
- Minimum of 2 years’ in professional accounting experience working with clients in the Australian SMSF sector
- High-level written and spoken communication, including report-writing and presentation skills
- Solid analytical and critical reasoning skills, including interpreting and reporting financial data
- An interest in working on a national level, liaising with interstate teams and clients as well as locally
- Intermediate to advanced IT literacy, ideally including experience in the use of Class Super
Desirable
- Qualification(s) and / or professional accreditation(s) in a relevant discipline such as Business / Commerce, Accounting or Finance, or other relevant professional or overseas qualification(s)
