About the role

At Grant Thornton we specialise in helping mid-sized businesses with a turnover of $10-$500m achieve their potential for growth. This market has opportunities and challenges throughout their business lifecycle, and require dynamic advisors who make business growth their priority. Understanding how to meet our client’s needs and support their growth journey means you will get involved a broad range of activities including:

  • Manage and drive growth in a portfolio offering a variety of HNW individuals and their family entities with a focus on succession and estate planning needs
  • Provide technical support to peers regarding various tax matters affecting family groups and their business entities through the generations
  • Develop and implement strategies to assist clients achieve their goals
  • Coach, develop and inspire a team of 3-4 Accountants
  • Engage in business development activities to enhance your portfolio

Skills and Experience

This role will suit someone with the following skills, experience and attributes:

  • At least 6 years’ experience in a CA or legal environment
  • Qualified CA,CPA or CTA with Masters of Taxation viewed highly
  • Experience in providing Tax and Advisory services to HNW individuals and private groups
  • Experience using cloud based technology solutions such as Xero and Class
  • Sounding working knowledge of Excel and Word
  • A focus on providing a compelling client experience for your portfolio of clients
  • An ability to drive our service offering to the next level
  • Experience in leading high quality and robust strategic advisory projects with a high level of autonomy
  • Experience in coaching and managing team members and a motivation to inspire others
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to collaboratively work with and influence stakeholders at all levels of client organisations
  • Demonstrated flexible, adaptable and innovative approach to complex problem solving
